Vancomycin is indicated for the treatment of:
- Serious infections caused by MRSA and other resistant Gram-positive bacteria (IV).
- Clostridioides difficile colitis (oral).
Vancomycin নিম্নলিখিত ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়:
- MRSA ও অন্যান্য রোধী গ্রাম-পজিটিভ জীবাণুজনিত গুরুতর সংক্রমণ (শিরায়)।
- ক্লস্ট্রিডিওয়ডিস ডিফিসিল কোলাইটিস (মুখে খাওয়া)।

Bactericidal; blocks bacterial cell-wall synthesis at an early step.
জীবাণুনাশক; প্রাথমিক ধাপে ব্যাকটেরিয়ার কোষপ্রাচীর তৈরি বন্ধ করে।
Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of Vancomycin:
- IV: 15-20 mg/kg every 8-12 hours with blood level and kidney monitoring.
- Oral for C. difficile: 125 mg four times daily for 10 days.
- Hospital use.
Vancomycin-এর মাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি:
- শিরায়: রক্তে মাত্রা ও কিডনি পর্যবেক্ষণসহ প্রতি ৮-১২ ঘণ্টায় ১৫-২০ মিগ্রা/কেজি।
- C. difficile সংক্রমণে মুখে: ১০ দিন দিনে চারবার ১২৫ মিগ্রা।
- হাসপাতালে ব্যবহার।
Interactionড্রাগ ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন
Vancomycin may interact with:
Aminoglycosides, loop diuretics, amphotericin (kidney and ear toxicity), neuromuscular blockers.
Vancomycin-এর সাথে যেসব ওষুধের ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন হতে পারে:
অ্যামিনোগ্লাইকোসাইড, লুপ ডাইইউরেটিক, অ্যাম্ফোটেরিসিন (কিডনি ও কানের ক্ষতি), নিউরোমাসকুলার ব্লকার।
Contraindicationsপ্রতিনির্দেশনা
Vancomycin should not be used in:
Hypersensitivity to vancomycin.

Side Effectsপার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া
Possible side effects of Vancomycin:
Infusion reaction (flushing and rash if given too fast), kidney damage, hearing loss.

Precautions while using Vancomycin:
