Primaquine is indicated for the treatment of:
- Radical cure of Plasmodium vivax and ovale malaria.
- Reduction of malaria transmission (single low dose in falciparum malaria).

Dosage and administration of Primaquine:
- Radical cure: 15 mg base daily (0.25-0.5 mg/kg/day) for 14 days after a G6PD test.
- Single low dose for transmission blocking: 0.25 mg/kg once.

Contraindicationsপ্রতিনির্দেশনা
Primaquine should not be used in:
- G6PD deficiency (unless under supervised weekly dosing).
- Pregnancy; breastfeeding unless the infant is G6PD-normal; use with other haemolytic drugs.

- Abdominal cramps, nausea, loss of appetite, headache.
- Haemolysis (dark urine), methaemoglobinaemia.
