Zapenia is indicated for the treatment of:
- Treatment-resistant schizophrenia.
- Psychosis in Parkinson's disease (specialist use).

Dosage and administration of Zapenia:
- Specialist-directed: start 12.5 mg once or twice on day 1, increase gradually to the usual 300-450 mg daily (maximum 900 mg) in divided doses.
- Requires regular blood count monitoring.

Zapenia should not be used in:
- History of agranulocytosis or low neutrophil counts; bone marrow disorders.
- Uncontrolled epilepsy; heart muscle inflammation (myocarditis); severe heart disease; paralytic ileus.

- Sedation, excess saliva, fast heartbeat, constipation, weight gain, dizziness.
- Serious: agranulocytosis, myocarditis, seizures, severe constipation.

- Mandatory blood count monitoring.
- Report fever, sore throat, chest pain or severe constipation immediately; monitor weight, glucose and lipids.
