Indicationsনির্দেশনা
Unifarin is indicated for the treatment of:
- Treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
- Stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation.
- Mechanical heart valves.

Dosage and administration of Unifarin:
- Dose is individualised by INR: usually 2-5 mg daily at the same time each day; the target INR is generally 2-3 (2.5-3.5 for some mechanical valves).
- Regular INR checks are essential.

Unifarin should not be used in:
- Pregnancy (especially the first trimester and near delivery).
- Active bleeding, severe liver disease, recent brain or eye surgery, uncontrolled high blood pressure.

- Bleeding, bruising, nosebleeds, heavy periods.
- Rare: skin necrosis, purple toes.

Precautions while using Unifarin:
- Keep a steady intake of vitamin K-rich foods and avoid alcohol binges.
- Report any bleeding, black stools or head injury at once.
