Tps is indicated for the treatment of:
- Induction of general anaesthesia.
- Control of convulsions when other measures fail (specialist).

Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of Tps:
Hospital use only by an anaesthetist: usually 3-5 mg/kg IV, given slowly and adjusted to response; lower doses in the elderly and in shock.

Contraindicationsপ্রতিনির্দেশনা
Tps should not be used in:
- Porphyria.
- Airway obstruction without airway control; severe shock; hypersensitivity to barbiturates.

Possible side effects of Tps:
- Low blood pressure, breathing depression, laryngospasm, cough, hiccups.
- Severe tissue damage if injected into an artery or leaks from the vein.

Precautions while using Tps:
- Breathing must be supported and equipment for resuscitation must be at hand.
- Reduce the dose in the elderly and in liver disease.
