Sperid is indicated for the treatment of:
- Schizophrenia.
- Manic episodes of bipolar disorder.
- Irritability and aggression in autism or behavioural disorders (specialist use).

Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of Sperid:
- Specialist-directed: adults start 1-2 mg daily (single or two divided doses), increase gradually to the usual 4-6 mg daily (maximum 16 mg).
- Lower doses in the elderly and in kidney or liver impairment.

- Hypersensitivity.
- Not for dementia-related psychosis in the elderly.

Possible side effects of Sperid:
- Drowsiness, weight gain, raised prolactin (breast changes, menstrual changes), movement disorders, dizziness, low blood pressure.
- Rare: QT prolongation, neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
