Simvastatin is indicated for the treatment of:
- High LDL cholesterol.
- Prevention of heart attack and stroke in people at high risk.

Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of Simvastatin:
Adults: 10-40 mg once daily in the evening; the 80 mg dose is restricted.

Interactionড্রাগ ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন
Simvastatin may interact with:
Amlodipine and diltiazem (limit dose), fibrates, ciclosporin, macrolides, azole antifungals, grapefruit juice, warfarin.
Simvastatin-এর সাথে যেসব ওষুধের ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন হতে পারে:
অ্যামলোডিপিন ও ডিলটিয়াজেম (মাত্রা সীমিত করুন), ফাইব্রেট, সাইক্লোস্পোরিন, ম্যাক্রোলাইড, অ্যাজোল ছত্রাকনাশক, গ্রেপফ্রুট জুস, ওয়ারফারিন।
Contraindicationsপ্রতিনির্দেশনা
Simvastatin should not be used in:
- Active liver disease.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, itraconazole, ritonavir).

Possible side effects of Simvastatin:
- Muscle pain, headache, nausea, constipation, raised liver enzymes.
- Rare: muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), liver injury.
