Salost is indicated for the treatment of:
- Postmenopausal osteoporosis and osteoporosis in men.
- Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis; Paget's disease of bone.

Dosage and administration of Salost:
Adults: 35 mg once weekly, 5 mg daily or 150 mg once monthly, taken on waking with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 minutes before food; stay upright.

Salost should not be used in:
- Low blood calcium.
- Oesophageal abnormalities; inability to sit or stand upright for 30 minutes; severe kidney impairment.

- Rare: jaw osteonecrosis, unusual thigh-bone fractures.
