Ridicef Powder For is indicated for the treatment of:

• Community-acquired pneumonia and bronchitis.
• Otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
• Uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections.

Bactericidal; blocks bacterial cell-wall synthesis.

Dosage and administration of Ridicef Powder For:

• Adults: 300 mg twice daily or 600 mg once daily for 5-10 days.
• Children: 14 mg/kg/day in one or two doses.
• Reduce in severe kidney impairment.

Ridicef Powder For may interact with:

Iron supplements and antacids (separate by 2 hours); probenecid; warfarin.

Ridicef Powder For should not be used in:

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.

Possible side effects of Ridicef Powder For:

• Diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, rash.
• Rare: severe allergic reaction, Clostridioides difficile colitis, blood disorders.

Pregnancy category: B

Use of Ridicef Powder For in pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Considered acceptable in pregnancy and breastfeeding when needed.

Precautions while using Ridicef Powder For:

• Check for penicillin or cephalosporin allergy before use.
• Reduce the dose in kidney impairment.
• Prolonged use can cause overgrowth of resistant organisms.
