Piperin-WS Powder

Piperin-WS is indicated for the treatment of:

Roundworm (Ascaris) and threadworm (pinworm) infections.

Paralyses the worms so they are expelled in the stool.

Dosage and administration of Piperin-WS:

• Roundworm: adults 4.5 g as a single dose (repeated after a week if needed).
• Threadworm: 2.25 g daily for 7 days; children by age as per the label.

Piperin-WS may interact with:

Chlorpromazine (convulsions), pyrantel (antagonism).

Piperin-WS should not be used in:

• Epilepsy.
• Severe kidney or liver impairment; hypersensitivity.

Possible side effects of Piperin-WS:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, headache.
• Rare: nerve toxicity at high doses.

Pregnancy category: B

Use of Piperin-WS in pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Avoid unless clearly needed.

Precautions while using Piperin-WS:

• Treat the whole household in threadworm infection.
• Avoid in people with seizure history.
