Ostomax is indicated for the treatment of:
Postmenopausal osteoporosis in patients who may not get enough vitamin D.

Dosage and administration of Ostomax:
Adults: one tablet once weekly (alendronic acid 70 mg with vitamin D3 2,800 or 5,600 IU), taken on waking with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 minutes before food; stay upright.

Ostomax should not be used in:
- Oesophageal abnormalities; inability to sit or stand upright for 30 minutes.
- Low blood calcium; severe kidney impairment.

Possible side effects of Ostomax:
- Heartburn, oesophagitis, abdominal pain, bone and muscle pain.
- Rare: jaw osteonecrosis, unusual thigh-bone fractures.
