Lyrinex CR Tablet (Controlled Release)

Lyrinex CR is indicated for the treatment of:

• Neuropathic pain (diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia).
• Fibromyalgia.
• Add-on treatment of partial seizures.
• Generalised anxiety disorder (in some countries).

Binds the alpha-2-delta subunit of calcium channels and reduces release of excitatory neurotransmitters.

Dosage and administration of Lyrinex CR:

• Adults: usually 75 mg twice daily at the start; may be increased to 150-300 mg twice daily as advised.
• Reduce dose in kidney impairment; stop gradually, not suddenly.

Lyrinex CR may interact with:

Opioids, alcohol and benzodiazepines (added sedation); ACE inhibitors (angioedema); pioglitazone (swelling).

Lyrinex CR should not be used in:

Hypersensitivity to pregabalin.

Possible side effects of Lyrinex CR:

• Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, weight gain, swelling of hands and feet, blurred vision.
• Rare: mood changes, suicidal thoughts, allergic reaction.

Pregnancy category: C

Use of Lyrinex CR in pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Avoid unless clearly needed; not recommended during breastfeeding.

Precautions while using Lyrinex CR:

• Do not drive if drowsy.
• Do not stop suddenly; taper over at least one week.
• Misuse and dependence have been reported.
