Indicationsনির্দেশনা
G Cotrimoxazole is indicated for the treatment of:
- Urinary tract infections.
- Flare-ups of chronic bronchitis and other respiratory infections.
- Treatment and prevention of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia.
- Shigellosis and some types of travellers' diarrhoea; typhoid when the organism is sensitive.

Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of G Cotrimoxazole:
- Adults: 960 mg (800 mg sulphamethoxazole + 160 mg trimethoprim) every 12 hours; Pneumocystis pneumonia uses higher, weight-based doses under a specialist.
- Reduce dose in kidney impairment.
- Children: by body weight.

- প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক: প্রতি ১২ ঘণ্টা অন্তর 960 mg (800 mg সালফামেথক্সাজল + 160 mg ট্রাইমেথোপ্রিম); নিউমোসিস্টিস নিউমোনিয়ায় বিশেষজ্ঞের তত্ত্বাবধানে ওজনভিত্তিক বেশি মাত্রা।
- কিডনির কার্যক্ষমতা কম থাকলে মাত্রা কমাতে হবে।
- শিশু: ওজন অনুযায়ী।

G Cotrimoxazole should not be used in:
- Allergy to sulfonamides or trimethoprim.
- Severe liver or kidney impairment.
- Folate-deficiency anaemia.
- Infants under 6 weeks.

Precautions while using G Cotrimoxazole:
- Stop at the first sign of rash.
- Drink plenty of fluid.
- Monitor blood counts in long-term use; caution in G6PD deficiency.
