Empatab M ER is indicated for the treatment of:

Type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.

Dosage and administration of Empatab M ER:

Adults: one tablet twice daily with meals (empagliflozin 5 or 12.5 mg with metformin 500, 850 or 1,000 mg), adjusted by the doctor.

Empatab M ER should not be used in:

  • Hypersensitivity.
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • Severe kidney impairment (eGFR below 30), severe liver disease, heavy alcohol use.
  • Conditions that risk lactic acidosis.
