Anaglin Tablet

Anaglin is indicated for the treatment of:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
• Kidney protection in type 2 diabetes with diabetic kidney disease.

Blocks glucose reabsorption in the kidney so that extra sugar leaves in the urine.

Dosage and administration of Anaglin:

Adults: 100 mg once daily before the first meal of the day; may be increased to 300 mg.

Anaglin may interact with:

Diuretics, insulin and sulfonylureas (low blood sugar), digoxin, rifampicin.

Anaglin should not be used in:

• Hypersensitivity.
• Diabetic ketoacidosis; severe kidney impairment or dialysis.

Possible side effects of Anaglin:

• Genital fungal infections, urinary tract infections, increased urination, thirst, dehydration, low blood pressure.
• Rare: ketoacidosis, Fournier's gangrene; possible increased risk of leg amputation.

Use of Anaglin in pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions while using Anaglin:

• Keep well hydrated; stop temporarily before major surgery or during acute illness.
• Check feet for sores; maintain genital hygiene.
