Amistatin is indicated for the treatment of:
- High LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
- Prevention of heart attack and stroke in people at high risk.
- Familial hypercholesterolaemia.

Dosage and administration of Amistatin:
- Adults: 10-80 mg once daily; usual start 10-20 mg, at any time of day.
- Take together with a healthy diet.

- Rare: muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), liver injury.

Precautions while using Amistatin:
- Report unexplained muscle pain, weakness or dark urine.
- Check liver enzymes before and during treatment as advised.
- Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice (atorvastatin).
