Indicationsনির্দেশনা
Alogliptin is indicated for the treatment of:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus, alone or combined with metformin, pioglitazone, a sulfonylurea or insulin.

Pharmacologyফার্মাকোলজি
Blocks the DPP-4 enzyme, raising incretin hormones that increase insulin and reduce glucagon after meals.
DPP-4 এনজাইম বন্ধ করে ইনক্রেটিন হরমোন বাড়ায়, ফলে খাবারের পর ইনসুলিন বাড়ে ও গ্লুকাগন কমে।
Dosage & Administrationমাত্রা ও সেবনবিধি
Dosage and administration of Alogliptin:
Adults: 25 mg once daily; 12.5 mg in moderate and 6.25 mg in severe kidney impairment.

Sulfonylureas and insulin may need a lower dose.

Contraindicationsপ্রতিনির্দেশনা
Alogliptin should not be used in:
- Hypersensitivity.
- Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Possible side effects of Alogliptin:
- Headache, runny nose, upper respiratory infection.
- Rare: pancreatitis, liver problems, blistering skin disease.

Precautions while using Alogliptin:
- Stop and seek advice with severe, persistent abdominal pain.
- Low blood sugar risk with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
