Alendon is indicated for the treatment of:
- Postmenopausal osteoporosis and osteoporosis in men.
- Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis; Paget's disease of bone.

Dosage and administration of Alendon:
Adults: 70 mg once weekly (or 10 mg daily), taken on waking with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 minutes before food or other medicines; stay upright.

Alendon should not be used in:
- Oesophageal abnormalities; inability to sit or stand upright for 30 minutes.
- Low blood calcium; severe kidney impairment.

- Heartburn, oesophagitis, abdominal pain, bone and muscle pain.
- Rare: jaw osteonecrosis, unusual thigh-bone fractures.
