Acarbose is indicated for the treatment of:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus, to lower blood sugar after meals.

Dosage and administration of Acarbose:
Adults: start 25 mg three times daily with the first bite of each main meal; increase to 50-100 mg three times daily as tolerated.

- Inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction.
- Severe kidney impairment; cirrhosis; hypersensitivity.
