A.S.A is indicated for the treatment of:
- Prevention of heart attack and stroke in people with cardiovascular disease (low dose).
- Treatment of suspected acute heart attack.
- Pain and fever (higher doses).

Dosage and administration of A.S.A:
- Prevention: 75-150 mg once daily after food.
- Pain and fever: 300-900 mg every 4-6 hours (maximum 4 g/day).
- Acute heart attack: 150-300 mg chewed once, as directed.

A.S.A should not be used in:
- Active peptic ulcer or bleeding.
- Allergy to aspirin or NSAIDs; asthma triggered by aspirin.
- Children and teenagers with viral illness (Reye's syndrome); severe kidney, liver or heart failure.
