Chemtocin is indicated for the treatment of:
Prevention of uterine atony and postpartum haemorrhage after caesarean section under epidural or spinal anaesthesia.

Hospital use only: 100 mcg as a single slow IV injection over 1 minute after delivery of the baby.

Chemtocin should not be used in:
- Pregnancy before delivery; induction of labour.
- Severe heart, liver or kidney disease; epilepsy; pre-eclampsia and eclampsia; hypersensitivity.
