Timolol 0.5% Eye Drops

Timolol 0.5% is indicated for the treatment of:

Glaucoma and raised eye pressure.

Reduces the production of fluid inside the eye.

Dosage and administration of Timolol 0.5%:

Eye drops: 1 drop of 0.25% or 0.5% in the affected eye twice daily; gel form once daily.

Timolol 0.5% may interact with:

Oral beta blockers, verapamil, diltiazem, clonidine.

Timolol 0.5% should not be used in:

• Asthma, severe COPD.
• Slow heart rate, heart block, heart failure.

Possible side effects of Timolol 0.5%:

• Eye stinging, blurred vision.
• Systemic: slow pulse, low blood pressure, breathing difficulty, tiredness.

Pregnancy category: C

Use of Timolol 0.5% in pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Use only if clearly needed.

Precautions while using Timolol 0.5%:

• Press the corner of the eye after instilling to reduce absorption.
• Remove contact lenses before use.
